Buffalo hula hooper extraordinaire Melissa Campbell is organizing the mother of all hoop events. On May 24th, hundreds of hula hoopers will gather at Buffalo State to show off their collective prowess with the hoop. It’s the inaugural Hoopathon – a family-friendly competition that will test the skills of hoopers by introducing them to all sorts of games and activities.
People of all ages and all skill levels are invited to attend the event – there will be prizes for the best hoopers. The Hoopathon is designed to get people in motion and active, while having fun at the same time. Aside from hooping, there will be guest performances by Verve Dance Studio, Hoopnosis Hoops, and Buffalo Contact Improvisation Group.
