A penthouse condominium residence at Avant that had been on the market for $1.75 million sold yesterday for $1.2 million. The sellers apparently took a loss on the unit. Eugene and Carole Vukelic purchased unit 1601 in March 2012 for $1,597,500. Eugene Vukelic is CEO of Try-It Distributing. Yesterday’s buyer utilized an LLC to shield their identity: 1601 Avant LLC with law firm Cannon Heyman & Weiss listed as the entity’s address.
The two-level, southwest facing, 3,300 sq.ft. residence (above) has three bedrooms and three full baths, two half baths, an open living room/dining room with double-height ceiling, two balconies, and sweeping downtown and waterfront views. All of Avant’s residences feature high-end finishes, in-unit laundries, large walk-in closets, gourmet kitchens, and same-floor storage areas. Avant was developed by Uniland Development Company.
The 27 residences at Avant occupy the 14th, 15th, and 16th floors of the building. Uniland has sold all of the units in the building, but one buyer on the 16th floor has yet to close on their residence. There are two resale units on the market – a two-unit combination on the 15th floor with 3,690 sq.ft. of living space and a whopping $1.75 million asking price and a 14th floor unit with 2,278 sq.ft. and asking ‘just’ $849,000.
