If you have an interest in Modern Architecture in Buffalo, specifically the Shoreline Apartments, be sure to attend the free lecture about the complex at the downtown central library tomorrow, Thursday February 27th from 5:30pm to 7:30 pm. The event will discuss the origins of Modern Architecture, common misconceptions about the style, and the significance of the Shoreline Apartments, which was built in 1974 and designed by Paul Rudolph.
Some of the region’s most prominent preservation advocates will be on hand to lead the discussion including Tom Yots from Preservation Buffalo Niagara (PBN), Barbara Campagna of BAC/Architecture + Planning, Tania Werbizky from the Preservation League of NYS, and Terry Robinson who serves on the Preservation Board and is vice chair of PBN.
The event is being co-sponsored by PBN, the Preservation League of NYS, Mid-Century Modern Buffalo, and the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library. Additionally, the event supporter is Docomomo US.
