We’ve all seen the commercials for SONIC Drive-In, even though the fast food franchise is not even in Buffalo, NY… yet.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the Buffalo-Rochester region will soon be home to eight new SONIC Drive-Ins, the first of which is scheduled to open in 2015. The article does not state if the city is going to be landing a SONIC, but if the recent success of a pilot Popeye’s on Elmwood in North Buffalo is any indication that fast food is alive and well in Buffalo, SONIC is sure to make [sound] waves if it does choose the city as a candidate – especially since Ted’s Hotdogs has still not committed to an urban location despite years of public enthusiasm for the local hotdog enterprise to pull the trigger.
Could America’s “#1 burger quick service restaurant*”, with skating Carhops be a recipe for success in Buffalo? And if so, what would be a good location?
