Dario Mohr brings Fine Art to the forefront of Fashion.

There was a time when it was considered a fashion tragedy to see two women wearing the same dress at a function. These days, it happens so often that it’s almost the running joke of homogenized fashion. That’s why local designer, Dario Mohr, has concentrated on focusing his attention on creating one of a kind garments with the intent of women wearing original fine art in public places. Dario’s line of 100% unique clothing is called Daft Minera (Foolish Wisdom) and can be found at select boutiques, and even galleries wherever his travels lead. “Daft Minerva is the artist’s answer to the trendy medium of fashion,” said Dario. “Subverting the genre with one of a kind, originally hand-illustrated, painted and embellished clothing. Daft Minerva is a boundless, uninhibited revolution for the hip anti-hipster with the intent to bring fine art to the forefront of fashion.”

One of the boutiques that carries Dario’s current line of pieces is SaiOne on Elmwood Avenue – the store where he launched his first line called “BuddhaHood Threads” in conjunction with OMI. His most recent line has been gaining traction in the industry and will be showcased at Mercedes Benz NY Fashion Week in NYC. “The line will consist of 12 looks from my Daft Minerva collection,” Dario stated. “The line showcases one of a kind edgy, alternative formal wear that is hand painted and hand embellished.”

From his early fascination with his mother’s fashion magazines, to following the works of some of the greatest who ever lived, including Alexander McQueen and Mondo Guerra, Dario has been applying his work to clothing and accessories in order to rethink and retool the minds and the bodies of people who are adventurous enough to step out of the little black dress and into the world of Dario’s little black book. Don’t be surprised to see more of Dario’s work as it graces the pages of fashion magazines (recently featured in Solis Magazine – see images), festivals such as Music is Art, and runway shows wherever cutting edge fashion is found.
