The Laundromutt

This time of year, dog parks can get a little messy. With the snow, then the thaw, then the rain, it can get to be a dirty business to get your pup outside running around, and a full time job just keeping him or her clean. In the past, dog-washing facilities have sprung up, but nothing like the sort of canine pampering that one new business offers. Finally, dirty/stinky dogs have a place to go where they will be treated like kings and queens, and come home smelling like roses. “Last year, I adopted a six pound lab puppy named Luna from the Erie County SPCA,” said Corina Stamm, owner of The Laundromutt. “It was easy enough to bathe her when she was little, but as she started to grow it became more difficult. My bathroom at home only has a stand-up shower, so once she hit 50 pounds, my only option was to take her to a professional groomer. This became an expensive routine for a dirty dog that just needs a bath. My fiancé and I briefly flirted with the possibility of building a dog tub in our basement, but the idea took on a life of its own and I found myself with a business plan.”

From grooming appointments to self service dog spa, The Laundromutt could be man’s newest best friend, especially when you take a look at some of the features that are offered year ’round and seasonally:

As there are all types of dogs, so too are there a variety of shampoos available, along with a never ending supply of towels, and just about every other convenience that you and your mutt could hope for. Stop on in and pamper your dog yourself, or inquire about the various spa services available including teeth cleaning and facials!
