The spotlight will shine on the beautiful Central Park neighborhood this Thursday, December 5th when eleven Central Park homes, a church, and a school are open for tour. This self-guided tour is scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. and is a member-only promotional event. If you’re not already a member of PBN, click here to join and take part in this event.
Homes on the tour include the last surviving station on the old New York Central Belt Line, which was converted into a home in the 1990s; the Irvine J. Kittinger House, built in 1927 for the founder of the Kittinger Furniture Co., manufacturers of high-quality, handcrafted furniture; the 1925 Colonial Revival house of George Hall, a confectioner-concessionaire at Crystal Beach Amusement Park, who later became the park’s owner; and the 1935 Tudor style Bayliss-Oishei House, which was built on the former estate of Lewis Bennett. A Junior League of Buffalo Decorator Show House in 2011, the home has since been completely redone and is a must-see.
Following the tour, attendees are encouraged to join the rest of the membership at the historic North Park Theater for a free light reception from 7 to 10 p.m.
Advance-purchase tickets are $25 and can be purchased online or over the phone by calling (716) 852-3300. Tickets will also be available on the day of the tour at $30. No tickets will be mailed; ticket pick-up will begin at 4:30 p.m. at Central Park United Methodist Church, 216 Beard Ave. Click here to order online.
