Buffalo SkyCam has captured another dramatic quadcopter video of Buffalo. No, it’s not our beautiful architecture. Nor is it the picturesque landscape of an Olmsted Park. This time pilot Tim Teach has captured the incredible dredging project on the Buffalo River, and he’s put it to music. From land and from water, it’s tough to get a good perspective of the process, but from an overhead vantage point the work is fascinating. The video also shows just how laborious the entire process is. The dredging of silt from the bottom of the Buffalo River and the restoration of its shoreline, and now the City Ship Canal (still underway through the holiday season), is part of a $75 million investment leveraged by The Buffalo River Restoration Partnership.
As an added bonus, I’m loving this awesome image (click to enlarge) that Tim passed along that shows Buffalo after a snowfall. Can you pick out La Nova?
