BRO Holiday Gift Guide: It’s A Mod Mod World

We’re getting down to the wire now. With just a couple more days to go, consider picking up a last minute gift at one of the funkier shops around – It’s A Mod Mod World. The owners at Mod World have assembled a collection of far out, zany gifts to choose from.

The shopping experience starts outside with the music that is piped out onto the street – an excellent marketing strategy that we rarely see any in Buffalo. From there it’s hard not to miss the eye-catching display windows filled with numerous last minute teasers.

Once inside, half the fun is taking a lap around the store examining all of the different merchandise and displays. From retro coasters to hellacious salt and pepper shakers, there’s bound to be something to please the most discerning recipient on your holiday gift list.

One of the items that I zeroed in on for the BRO Gift Guide was the collection of various clocks that have been assembled out of some of the most unusually decorated products, including cereal boxes, license plates, cigar boxes, and candy containers (see lead image). The cleverly disguised clocks range in price, but are all extremely affordable.

Next up is the lightning bolt power outlet that adds some pizzazz to one of the most utilitarian objects in the house. For $22 you can give the gift of a designer power outlet that I imagine nobody would ever expect to find under the tree. For the fun loving person on your gift list… there’s nothing quite like this super unusual, but useful, present.
