24 Hour Bike Build Off

Three local bike shops and one bike-oriented organization are coming together this holiday season for a bike building competition that will last 24 hours. The plan is to enter into a Bike Build Off – building 100 bikes that will be given away through the WNY Holiday Partnership (learn more).

Rick Cycle, Campus Wheelworks, The Bike Shop and GOBikeBuffalo will all contribute towards the cause, mainly by supplying people to assemble the two-wheel vehicles. The bikes for the build-off were made possible by East Aurora Eagle Scout Jack Croft who was able to rally people to donate over 150 bikes (in one form or another). The three bike shops, along with friends and family and anyone else who wants to help with the herculean effort, will ensure that Jack’s accomplishment will be rewarded as the bikes roll out to families this holiday season.

*If interested in volunteering, stop by the GObike Shop during winter hours: Sundays 1-5 and Tuesdays 6-9 or give the shop a ring at (716) 320-0193.

Who: GObike Buffalo, Rick Cycle Shop, Campus WheelWorks, The Bike Shop and our allies

When: 6:30 December 14 – 6:30 December 15 (or until the bikes are finished, whichever comes first)

Where: GObike Community Shop, 98 Colvin Ave.

Why: To provide deserving children with a bike for the holidays!
