WW1 wording revealed at 741 Main Street

This wording is what workers found painted on an interior wall when recently renovating a commercial space at 741 Main Street.

Avalon Document Services will be moving into the building, as the business has outgrown their current space at 721 Main Street a few doors down. After chipping some plaster off of the walls, the wording slowly appeared until workers could read the full message:

“On account of war conditions, on and after January 15, 1918, all repairs will be strictly cash.”
