UPDATE – From The Buffalo News:
Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo will be in Buffalo on Thursday morning to reveal plans for a $225 million, high-tech development on a brownfield site in South Buffalo that includes a commitment from two California clean-energy companies to create 850 jobs, The Buffalo News has learned.
The building would be constructed on 90 acres at the former Republic Steel site along the Buffalo River’s south bank, a previously contaminated parcel owned by the Buffalo Urban Development Corp. and renamed Buffalo RiverBend Commerce Park, sources confirmed to The News.
The project would be the first phase of an eventual six-building campus at the former Republic Steel and Donner Hanna Coke site, with a focus on clean-energy, green-energy research and development. The developer is not known.
