392 Pearl Street has a new owner. The four-story building dates back to the early 1920th century and has been through a lot of change over the years. The long-time restaurant was stripped down to just a shell in the 1980′s and nearly demolished. The building was later renovated to include simple art deco styling and a centralized clock. Its interior includes an atrium that runs the entire height of the building which also includes skylights and partially exposed brick walls.
The purchaser, Chapin 392 Pearl LLC, paid $785,000 for the 32,000 sq.ft. property. Chapin 112 Genesee LLC purchased 112 Genesee Street in June. Both corporations according to State filings share a Buffalo post office box.
Richard Platt purchased 47 E. Mohawk Street, the site of defunct Mohawk Place, late last week for $229,495. Platt’s Orlin Enterprises also owns the four-story building at Mohawk and Ellicott that has been a bane to neighbors. Word on the street is that 47 E. Mohawk will contain boarding rooms like its immediate neighbor.
