Lest we forget so quickly, the errors of our ways, Steve Bukowski, a graduate student at SUNY Buffalo State and a lifelong Western New Yorker (currently pursuing a M.A. in Museum Studies) is looking forward to the opening of his capstone Masters project next month – an exhibition at the Steel Plant Museum of WNY (learn more about the museum). “Razing Awareness is the culmination of my Master’s degree in Museum Studies at SUNY Buffalo State,” Steve wrote to me. “Working closely with Spencer Morgan, the curator of the Steel Plant Museum of Western New York, Thinking Outside the Square, Inc. and Dr. Cynthia Conides, chair of the Museum Studies program, the exhibit is set to open on Friday, November 15th, 2013 at the Steel Plant Museum at 6pm. The exhibition blends together art and history to tell the story of the Bethlehem Steel Administration Building that was lost this past year. It features artifacts from the building itself, historic photographs, and artist-submitted work that used the building as its subject.”
The Steel Plant Museum is located at 100 Lee Street, in Buffalo’s First Ward. The opening gala will take place from 6pm-9pm and has free admission and free parking.
