Three developers have responded to a request for proposals (RFP) for the former Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital site according to a Kaleida Health press release. Kaleida is not naming the developers but Uniland Development and Canterbury Woods of Williamsville have expressed interest in the site recently.
Over the next few weeks, Kaleida Health will study the responses, meet with the developers and interview each of the respective teams regarding their proposed development projects.
In July, Kaleida Health re-issued the RFP to 59 developers after Chason Affinity was unable to recruit a veterinary school as previously planned. Chason Affinity beat out a mixed-use complex by Uniland Development Co. Uniland is said to have resubmitted its $100 million proposal for ‘Chapin Place’ containing 276 residential units, a park, a boutique hotel, restaurants, retail space and professional offices.
Kaleida Health has begun the reuse process for the Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, which is scheduled to move to its new home in 2016. A similar development rights RFP for the Bryant Street campus is expected to be released in early 2014.
