MORATORIUM ON DEMOLITION OF ST. ANN’S CHURCH – The Council adopted a resolution, sponsored by Council Members Darius G. Pridgen and David A. Franczyk, opposing the demolition of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church and Shrine and directing the Commissioner of the Department of Permit and Inspection Services to deny issuance of any demolition permit for the building, pending review by the Preservation Board and a hearing by the Council.

APPLICATION FOR URBAN INITIATIVE GRANT – The Council adopted a resolution, sponsored by Niagara District Council Member David A. Rivera, approving and fully endorsing the Community Foundation of Greater Buffalo’s Urban Initiatives application for the Buffalo Green and Healthy Homes Initiative.
OLD FIRST WARD COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION APPLICATION FOR NEW YORK MAIN STREET PROGRAM – The Council adopted a resolution, sponsored by South District Council Member Christopher P. Scanlon, approving and endorsing the application of the Old First Ward Community Association for a grant under the New York State Main Street Program.
WAIVING OF FEES
• The Council approved a resolution, sponsored by Council President and Lovejoy District Council Member Richard A. Fontana, waiving any and all application fees associated with the East Lovejoy Coalition of Neighbors National Night Out Celebration that was held on August 6, 2013.
• The Council approved a resolution, sponsored by Council President and Lovejoy District Council Member Richard A. Fontana, waiving the event permit fee for the “9/11 Memorial to the Fallen Heroes and Victims of September 11, 2001” that was held on September 3, 2013.
• The Council approved a resolution, sponsored by North District Council Member Joseph Golombek, Jr., waiving all park fees associated with Black Rock-Riverside Neighborhood Housing Services “thank you” luncheon to be held in Riverside Park.
• The Council approved a resolution, sponsored by North District Council Member Joseph Golombek, Jr., waiving any street closing fees for the USA National Masters Championship Fleet Feet 15k Run Into Buffalo that was held on September 2, 2013.
• The Council approved a resolution, sponsored by North District Council Member Joseph Golombek, Jr., waiving the special event permit fee associated with the Scajaquada Canoe Club Lantern Light Canoe Parade at Hoyt Lake in Delaware Park that was held on August 3, 2013.
• The Council approved a resolution, sponsored by Delaware District Council Member Michael J. LoCurto, waiving all permit fees associated with hosting Buffalo Seminary’s annual Back to School Picnic on September 6, 2013 on Chapin Parkway.
• The Council approved a resolution, sponsored by Delaware District Council Member Michael J. LoCurto, waiving all permit fees associated with the Elmwood Kiwanis Annual Fishing Derby in Delaware Park that was held on August 21, 2013.
• The Council approved a resolution, sponsored by Delaware District Council Member Michael J. LoCurto, waiving all permit fees associated with the “Bullying Stops Here” Event that was held in Delaware Park on August 9, 2013.
• The Council approved a resolution, sponsored by South District Council Member Christopher P. Scanlon, waiving all fees applicable to the Annual Our Lady of Charity Feast of the Assumption Mass and Ice Cream Social at Heacock Park that was held on August 15, 2013.
• The Council approved a resolution, sponsored by South District Council Member Christopher P. Scanlon, waiving all fees applicable to the Poll Watcher Training and Instruction Class that was held August 19-23, 2013 at the Tosh Collins Community Center.
• The Council approved a resolution, sponsored by South District Council Member Christopher P. Scanlon, waiving all fees applicable to the Woodside United Methodist Church Picnic that was held August 25, 2013 at Cazenovia Park.
• The Council approved a resolution, sponsored by Majority Leader and Masten District Council Member Demone A. Smith, waiving the Park Rental and Event fees for “Prayer in the Park” that was held on Labor Day weekend 2013.
