Buffalo History Tours on the Stella Blue

Inside-Silo-City-Buffalo-NYWhile on a recent excursion on the Spirit of Buffalo schooner, I was talking to Owner-Captain Rich Hilliman of Buffalo Sailing Adventures and the Queen City Ferry Company about one of his newest adventures, Buffalo History Tours (see Facebook). The enterprise is one of the latest boat offerings that Rich and his team have added to their tour and taxi roster. The dedicated Buffalo History Tours boat leaves from the The Central Wharf at Canalside and tours the Buffalo River, with a stop to Silo City where sightseers can climb ashore thanks to a new dock that was recently constructed.

This is an opportune chance to learn about the history of our waterfront, while seeing firsthand what the future of the river holds. Click here to see some of the Facebook photos that tell the story of a typical day’s voyage upon the Stella Blue. It’s the best of both worlds – being out on the water seeing the city of Buffalo from a new perspective, and then exploring our industrial relics inside and out.

2013 History Tour Schedule:

Departing from Central Wharf at 10:30, 12:30, 2:30, 4:30, and 6:30 daily. Tours are 90 minutes.
