Buffalo has a story that needs to be told. I suppose the cat is slowly getting out of the bag… even if there are only a few whiskers showing. We’re getting used to a little bit of positive exposure and it feels good. Our recent brushes with positive press is the reward that we get from years of dusting ourselves off and pushing forward. It’s pretty neat knowing that we’re doing it ourselves, without the help of the silver bullet that everyone said would be the only way that we would ever recover. I’m convinced that part of the recovery is telling the Buffalo story, and there are others out there who agree. One such person has posed a task for Buffalo Rising readers:
“Every time I try to write a paragraph explaining why James Fallows at The Atlantic magazine should visit Buffalo in the course of his American Futures project, I think “the folks at Buffalo Rising could do a lot better.”” – Nathan Montague
Historian, Archaeological Survey, University at Buffalo
