I came across this super helpful directional sign on Connecticut Street this morning pointing visitors of the Garden Walk to various neighborhood points of interest. Brilliant! As this neighborhood is still relatively new to many Garden Walkers, the sign is a welcome and aesthetically pleasing waymarking feature that could be beneficial in more places throughout the city year ’round.
I would think that to get a bigger project such as this off the ground, the local high schools would have to be enlisted. This particular signage included the distance to each destination, another helpful tool. Plus, all of the signs were beautifully made, with design hints that added to the tasteful production of the project.
Not far from Connecticut Street I bumped into some friends who were putting the finishing touches on a pig roast. They offered to let me take a peek at the roasting pig inside the smoker, but I opted out being a pescetarian and all. There’s something about stands on Richmond Avenue that always have a “kissing” angle.
In the past I’ve seen kissing booths, and this year it’s “Kiss This Pig”. For anyone wondering, all of the proceeds from today’s sale are going towards a charity – Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Now Garden Walk on!
