Seneca Street Shows Off

Is it possible for a district of Buffalo to “ham it up?” That’s what happened when organizers of the Seventh Annual Seneca Street Car Show rolled into the neighborhood along with over 150 killer rides. From souped-up  hot rods to classic beauties, the cars played into the hands of the neighborhood, and the strip shined, sparkled, gleamed and glowed. Depending on the era of the car, different buildings took on respective personas. Add a few properly positioned (and outfitted) models to the mix and the seven-block Seneca Street setting took on a life of its own. It just goes to show how one street, in one neighborhood, can light a spark that can catch fire. Events such as this have the ability to reunite a neighborhood, by bringing residents and business owners together in order to wave a flag of solidarity. And just think of the hundreds of visitors who showed up to listen to live music, support the small businesses and check out the amazing entourage of cars that filled the streets and captured the imaginations of all. Not to mention the fun-loving ice cream gal and her friends who came along for the ride.

See the event Facebook page here. Thanks to photographer Brian Pickard (www.shutterbugstroll.com) for capturing the denoted images. All photos from the event FB page.
