Most of us are aware of the calming properties of water. Some of us are aware of the philosophies of Buddhist meditation, contemplative prayer and deep relaxation. Few of us have ever had the chance to experience all of these forms of physical, emotional, energetic or spiritual healing out on the water… in a boat… on the Spirit of Buffalo 73 foot coastal sailing vessel to be exact. That’s what James Pilc, Board-Certified Physician and author of Unstuck: The Enlightenment of Medicine, is embarking upon and he’s looking to enlist a crew of open-minded people to share in an experience that he says is “intended to be a physical, emotional, energetic or spiritual healing – to further investigate the connection between Western Medicine, Eastern Medicine and Meditative Self-Healing.”
In 2005 Pilc was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer. Since that time he has immersed himself into the art of self healing through meditation, relaxation, retraining the brain to focus and slow the mind, which in turn results in improved sleep and an overall sense of well-being. He states, “I am thrilled to be able to offer this unique opportunity to broaden the scope of meditation options in WNY and fuse the healing properties of water and meditation.”
The two hour sails include one hour of guided meditation for $59 per person. Sails are scheduled for Thursday July 25,2013 from 3-5pm and Monday August 19,2013 from 6-8pm. No experience with meditation is necessary.
