These days, when we think of the Buffalo River, we tend to think about grain elevators and public parks. We think about the ‘here and now’, with all of the incremental developments, and then we think about the future… what Buffalo River might look like some day.
The Valley Community Association has just announced a ground breaking event for a project that will help to transform the Buffalo River, by opening a complex that will allow more people to utilize an already significant waterfront amenity. Located at the inspiration Buffalo River Fest Park site, the lodge will be a destination for banquets, parties, community and waterfront activists, and a shelter for times of inclement weather (among other uses).
This is an integral development along the river, and signals a new day for River Fest Park and the adjacent Ohio Street Corridor. More details to come at the groundbreaking ceremony…
