Developments at the Medical Campus continue to roll out, showcasing the city as a place for ever expanding innovation. What better place to show off the people and the businesses that are contributing to the growth of the campus and the city than the Innovation Center? On April 11, from 4-7pm, the Innovation Center will be opening its doors and allowing members of the public to take a look inside. “The goal of this event is to showcase the entrepreneurial spirit here in the Innovation Center,” said Kari Root Bonaro, Director of Communications for the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. “There are 40 companies & about 350 people working in the Innovation Center today. This is a significant increase from the two companies that were here when we renovated & moved into this portion of the Trico complex in early 2010.”
Kari also passed along a sampling of what is in store for those who are able to attend the event… the deadline for the RSVP is today, so get your Open House Passport now by calling 716-854-BNMC or by clicking on www.bnmc.org/ICOpenHouse
From Kari:
“The Open House includes biotech/med device companies, both “homegrown” and those that have moved to the medical campus from other regions; a pharmacy; a home telehealth company; a sleep center; D’Youville has a classroom here; and many companies that support the growth for small businesses on the campus – a company that helps bring products & technologies to market; a creative agency; IP attorneys; a staffing company; a technology company; as well as a fitness center complete with personal training, a chiropractor, and workout classes.
“Everyone who attends will be given a “passport”, and encouraged to move around the building to meet the tenants and learn more about what they do. Each destination will have a different offering, such as chocolate fondue, wine tasting, mad scientist drinks, a martini bar, wellness checks, and much more. If you fill up your passport with stamps you’ll be entered to win some great prizes, including a Nook, local restaurant gift certificates, Bisons & Sabres tickets and more. It should be a lot of fun and a great way to network with people on and off the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.”
