If you’re an artist, and you’re also a cycling advocate, then consider entering a work of “bike art” into the upcoming People Powered Movement at Main (St)udios. GObike Buffalo is looking for artists to take part in a gallery showing that is designed to promote bikes culture through art.
The goal of the show is to promote bike advocacy in Buffalo by raising awareness and money through the sale of bike inspired works of 2-D and 3-D art. GObike Buffalo is looking to celebrate bicycling and promote the added benefits that the recreational sport and green transportation alternative delivers. All mediums of work accepted: 2-D including drawing, painting, montage, photography, etc., 3-D including repurposed bike parts, sculpture, etc. as well as poems and writing pieces not exceeding two pages.
20% commission for each piece of work sold will be donated to GObike Buffalo.
Submitting: Please follow this link to submit your work. Visual submissions must be JPEG or PNG files not exceeding 2MB and must include a description of dimensions. Written submissions must be submitted in PDF format. There is a fee of $10 per 3 submissions, each additional is $5.
All submissions are due by MAY 5th; you will be notified by May 9th. Works must dropped off at Main (St)udios by May 16th during open gallery hours (Tues.-Fri. 11-5 & Sat. 12-3) labeled with Name, Title, & Price and ready to hang.
There will be both an afternoon and evening opening reception at Main (St)udios (Facebook): 12-2pm and 7-9pm on Friday, May 17th. Admission is free and open to the public; beverages and light snacks will be served.
