Designing to Live Sustainably is looking at creative ways that we can reexamine Buffalo’s vacant and underused properties, so that they may best serve the city and its people. We do have the resources to rebuild our neighborhoods…
The advantage of not being an overbuilt city in this day and age, is that we have the ability to reinvent parts of Buffalo in a progressive, sustainable manner. By creating a competition where people submit sustainable ideas, designs and strategies, there are countless ways to re-envision what the urban landscape might look like one day. “We have launched our Designing to Live Sustainably (d2ls) design competition in which vacant, underused property in Buffalo will be targeted in the competition for novel green designs,” said Dave Bauer, President, Sustainable Earth Solutions. “At this point we are encouraging people to enter the competition, though the actual designs are not due until May 3rd. All submitted designs will be displays at the CEPA Gallery in Buffalo on May 18th.”
The web site for the competition is www.d2lsbuffalo.com and much information can be found there.
The d2ls Competition celebration will be held at CEPA Gallery, 617 Main Street, Suite 201, Buffalo, NY 14203.
