What is your preferred subject matter?
How do you feel you can best advance to the next level, or are you most happy where you are now?
funding to purchase materials to experiment of course – media is costly – experimentation is necessary to discover the next level
What is another medium that you would like to learn? Or that you have already learned?
sculpting / exploring various textures
Is there a purpose to your artwork?
yes: I want to create collectables, I need viewers to feel like they must own a Larry Allen
How often do you work on your art?
everyday at least 10hours a day
What or who first prompted you to venture into the art world?
started doodling and was impressed with what I was playing around with and felt a need to get serious
Have you been schooled in art? Are you planning on attending art school? If so, where?
I studied art in high school but basically advanced through free-styling

Hallwalls is my goal, but I value any venue that respects my work enough to give me a showing

464 Gallery, then on to Hallwalls
Where did you learn your craft?
initially from home – some pointers came from McKinley high school
What are your strengths?
What are your weaknesses?
traditional sculpting
Name one person that you would like to sell a work of art to?
Warren Buffet
What’s the best thing about being an artist?
freedom to express without restriction
What’s the worst thing about being an artist?
you have to have a main source of income before the art can support you / if it takes too long to happen you may have to put the art down for a while
Where is your current/next show in the city? Dates? Opening night?
In talk with BCC Arts & Entertainment for a showing next month, no date confirmed  yet
What is the title and theme of the show/s?
“Canvas Sculpture” by Larry Allen
Anything else?
yes, “Canvas Sculpture” is my theme – it is a collection of acrylic paintings on gallery stretched canvas. This is the theme because I’m combining the two styles of sculpture plus canvas: creating an extreme texture feel to the work. All of my pieces invite (touch), which is untraditional in art.
