Another New Year’s Eve extravaganza that many Buffalonians are looking forward to is set to take place at The Hotel @ The Lafayette. Coming off the heals of the successful The Witches Ball, organizers are anticipating this James Bond-themed party to be filled with plenty of interactive 007-style sights and sounds, including a first floor casino featuring gaming tables in the Lobby Bar (Black Jack and roulette), the Auto Club room (craps, Let it Ride, Caribbean Stud), Mike A’s Retro Bar (Texas Hold ‘Em) and Peacock Alley (skill stop slot machines).
Live entertainment that evening includes 35 members of the Buffalo Niagara Concert Band in the Grand Ballroom with DJ Cutler, Dan Harper and the Magic Show in the Pan Am Bar and Grill, and The Valkyries (with John and Mary) in the Crystal Ballroom.
Making special appearances on New Year’s will be the original Rocket Belt that James Bond wore in the movie Thunderball (made by Bell Aerospace in Buffalo), along with Buffalo “Bond Girl” Dianna Casale who appeared in The Living Daylights (Dianna will lead the New Year’s countdown along with the Concert Band).
Dress for the evening is creative Bond attire, meaning that guys can sport anything from formal black tie to a hotel bathrobe, and ladies can choose from an evening gown, a bikini, and everything in-between. Look for plenty of 007 projections, Bond characters, and of course some shaken not stirred One Roq drinks, along with Pyramid and Labatt as event sponsors.
Tickets are either general admission ($40) or VIP ($100). To see what each of the ticket prices offers, click on the Lafayette Royale Facebook event page.
