Celebrate the arts this holiday season

When I think of the holidays I think of Shea’s Broadway Series in Buffalo – a ritual that is celebrating 25 years strong. If you haven’t seen the following video (released earlier this year) that takes us through the memories of Shea’s and the Broadway series, it’s hard to imagine that the Buffalo landmark was, at one point in time, in jeopardy of being demolished. Today Buffalo is one of the leading markets for touring Broadway in the United States, thanks to a series of critical renovations and a major stage-house expansion at Shea’s.

During this holiday season, and into the New Year, remember to support the arts, both big and small. Think about all that has gone into making the Buffalo arts scene so strong over the years, and make a commitment to purchase tickets to theater shows, gallery openings, musical performances… as this city continues to turn the corner, it’s institutions such as Shea’s that showcases Buffalo in a determined and expressive light.
Let’s keep that light shining bright for years to come.
