Don Tequila Mexican Taqueria

By GirlFriday:
Restaurateur Sergio Mucino is about to add the city of Buffalo to his growing list of popular Mexican restaurant locations; Don Tequila, a “Mexican Taqueria” is slated to open the second week of February 2013.  With locations in Orchard Park, NY as well as in Pittsburgh, PA and Amherst, Ohio this is an exciting move for his expanding brand.  Taking over K. Gallagher’s on Allen Street, Don Tequila will be upgrading the space significantly.  The lengthy list of improvements includes many much needed updates, and is really an entire overhaul of the restaurant/bar.
The menu will focus on traditional Mexican cuisine, keeping to “the way that we make it in Mexico,” says Sergio.  There will an emphasis on all of the classic dishes that we have come to know and love, including a scrumptous array of as many types of tacos, burritos, and fajitas that one’s mind can conjure.  A lunch menu looks just as enticing, especially when you see how well priced the many selections are!
Don Tequila, as the name would imply, also does not underwhelm when it comes to the bar menu.  They claim to have the largest selection of tequila in the area, boasting over 75 variations in house.  Of course the obligatory margueritas make quite the appearance, as does an assortment of traditional Mexican beers, all rounded out with a nice presence of happy hour specials to boot.
Though, what is so exciting about this new restaurant to me, is how accessible it seems.  From the warm tortilla chips served with a carafe of salsa as you sit down, to the many different specials and menu options, to the fact that it will be open 7 days a week, complete with a seperate lunch menu.   Don Tequila seems like it will be the perfect neighborhood spot to get your fix of traditional Mexican fare, and atmosphere, while keeping your wallet as happy as your senses.
