By Bernice Radle:
Are you ready to think sustainable on October 13th, 2012?
WNYSEA is bringing BRO readers a daily article about green buildings in Buffalo. Each green building will be available for you to see for FREE on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the WNY Solar Homes and Green Buildings Tour from 10am – 4pm. While this tour is not limited to the city itself, it is very important to give a HUGE cheer to the city of Buffalo because there are so many great projects within the city limits. For a full list of tour sites go to www.wnysea.com.

WNYSEA is thrilled to see this green living roof on the tour this year. This is a giant step in the right direction for our city!
You can see Buffalo’s first green roof bus shelter on October 13th.
“A demonstration project for NFTA utilizing an existing bus shelter. In the last year NFTA has installed about 100 PV (photovoltaics) systems on bus shelters. This is the first green (living) roof!” – eco_logic STUDIO
WNYSEA is holding our kickoff awards ceremony at 9:30am on Saturday, October 13th at the Hispanics United of Buffalo. The address is 254 Virginia and all are welcome to come. WNYSEA will be giving an award to both Hispanics United of Buffalo and University at Buffalo for their leadership in promoting sustainability in the region. Refreshments and prizes will be available. Also, the NFTA has donated several day passes to WNYSEA for the tour date. You can pick one up at the kickoff party. Thanks to the NFTA for their contribution!
