The International Institute of Buffalo is once again hosting its Buffalo Without Borders event on October 25, 2012 from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm. The evening is dedicated to Buffalo’s newest Americans – immigrants and refugees who have struggled to get to this city, while creating a new live for themselves and their family. Buffalo Without Borders showcases a different look at the various cultures that we now find at our doorstep – the food, the music and dance, the clothing and the crafts. It’s a chance to get to know the people through one of the lead organizations that has been so instrumental in helping the different communities to adjust to everyday life in this foreign land.
Buffalo Without Borders is an unforgettable event that helps to remind us that Buffalo is becoming a melting pot of cultures from all over the world. This is a chance to learn firsthand about the Burmese, Bhutanese, Ethiopian and Middle Eastern communities. The West Side Bazaar will also be present to showcase the beautiful wares of the different ethnic groups that it has helped to establish on the city’s West Side. If you’ve been thinking about supporting the efforts of an organization that is helping to change the face of Buffalo, then attending Buffalo Without Borders is a great place to start.
