RTG for a Cure is back for a third year! The event celebrates and shows support for all those that battled and continue to
battle cancer, especially those afflicted by childhood forms. Hopefully, along the way we raise some
money (we raised over $11,000 last year) for a great foundation, Carly’s Club. On Saturday, September 22, 2012, community members and
friends will gather to support a great cause…cancer patient support and
research. The fundraiser will
feature a co-ed kickball tournament, Kan-Jam tournament and a Family Zone in
Father Conway Park, as well as a Regatta/Scavenger Hunt down the Buffalo
River. The fun will then continue
with an after party, from 3-7pm at First Ward Community Center, which will be graciously
hosted by event volunteers.
The
event is threefold in its mission: raise awareness and money for cancer patient
support and research, promote the great recreational activities available at
Father Conway Park and the Buffalo River and celebrate the lives of those past
and present that have battled cancer.
It is sure to be another great day in support of a great cause.
It
is sure to be a great day to celebrate those that survived, commemorate those
that have been lost and enjoy the outdoor activities available at one of the
city’s finest parks and the historic Old First Ward community.
