The second annual IndieSound festival is heading our way. This year the event is planning on setting up in Black Rock, in order to tap into the district’s incredible history and current rebirth. On Saturday, September 29th IndieSound will take over Amherst Street and will showcase a number locally owned businesses by teaming them up with independent local artists.
It’s a great idea that should help festival-goers to rediscover the neighborhood by participating in the events and activities set up throughout the day. From 12-5pm business/venues such as Sportsmen’s Tavern, Joe’s Service Center, 464 Gallery, Rohall’s Corner, and Artsphere Gallery will come alive with the sounds of live music, turning Amherst Street into a commercial strip of sights and sounds.
Last year over 40 local musicians performed in Allentown. This year Black Rock will feature many of Buffalo’s best musicians in a similar manner. Sponsors are Buffalo First, The Good Neighborhood and the Grant-Amherst Business Association.
