There are not a lot of places that you can go to watch movies outdoors these days. There was a time when the drive-in movie theater was all the rage… it’s too bad that they are so hard to find now. Occasionally there is the random showing of a movie in a park, or at an outdoor festival, but you really have to search them out. That’s why Movies in the Meadow is so much fun each summer – it’s a chance to do something a little bit out of the ordinary. All throughout August movie-lovers can attend a series of film showings that include classic films with examples of Film Noir, Hitchcock mystery, romance, family fare, and comedy.
Don’t forget to bring a chair, a blanket, a picnic and some friends, every Friday in August. The series is brought to you by The Parkside Community Association and is free thanks to the generous support of M&T Bank and Councilman Michael LoCurto. Here’s the line-up:
Friday, August 3rd – Casablanca (8:30 start)
Friday, August 10th – Rear Window (8:25 start)
Friday, August 17th – It Happened One Night (8:15 start)
Friday, August 24th – Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (8:04 start)
Friday, August 31st – Young Frankenstein (7:55 start)

*The location will be directly in front of the Parkside lodge in Delaware Park, near the intersection of Parkside and Florence. In the event of rain, the shows will be held at the nearby Parkside Lodge.
