Buffalo Navy Week is coming to Canalside September 10-17, 2012. It’s the first time that the city has been added to the list of stopping points for the week-long celebration of the Navy’s maritime services. The week will also be part of a commemoration of the War of 1812 bicentennial, with all sorts of interactive activities on hand for all ages (see video below). Join the Navy Region Mid-Atlantic for meet and greets, demonstrations, and a special tribute to the composition of the Star Spangled Banner.
The premise of the occasion is primarily to pay tribute to the men and women who participate in maritime services while paying tribute to the Sailors and Marines who fought in the War of 1812 and all conflicts since that time. The event also gives our Coast Guardsmen a chance to interact with the community and to showcase maritime services.
