In true Larkin fashion, the Larkin District is introducing an inventive way to watch the Olympics (with sound) in style. Whether you’re sitting on the patio of the Larkin Filling Station, or at one of myriad outdoor seating areas, you can catch the Olympics being broadcasted over the big screen. “We are really excited to bring the Olympics to Larkin Square beginning with the opening ceremonies,” said Larkin Square Director of Fun Leslie Zemsky. “We have on location in the Square a 9′ x 12′ foot outdoor screen running the Olympics. The plan is to broadcast the Olympics from mid morning until 11 pm each night throughout the run of the Olympics, including the weekend. When our regular food venues such as The Filling Station and Square 1 Sandwiches are closed we will be offering picnic snack bags sold from the The Grill along with water and sodas. Now that we’re in the thick of summer, we want to give folks an opportunity to share our Olympic Fever. Whether for lunch or just to enjoy a summer evening outside, we’re welcoming visitors to catch a bit of the Olympic Spirit in Larkivnville!”
Stop on down to Larkinville. Join in on a game of pickle ball or lounge around watching all of the surrounding activity. Larkin Square is an experience in itself (see why). Ride your bike down to The Grill (found in the middle of Larkin Square), order up some fancy grill food (beer coming as early as Monday), and root for the USA… or whatever team your prefer. In the end, it’s all about team spirit, and the ever-growing spirit of Larkinville.
