When we think of happy hours, we tend to think of the waterfront, Allentown, Chippewa, etc. A nice patio always comes to the forefront of our collective mind, especially when the weather is nice. A little live music doesn’t hurt either. If you’re looking for something to do this Friday that fits all of the criteria, consider heading over to the Burchfield-Penney Arts Museum for the museum’s M&T Second Friday.
As is implied, the second Friday of each month the museum hosts an early evening tribute to the local arts scene. This Friday visitors will be treated to a performance by Melanie Aceto Contemporary Dance, and happy hour with the Equinox Jazz Band. There will also be art workshops with Burchfield’s Kari Achatz and Nick Napierala, and a guided tour of the museum’s current show ‘The Artists Among Us’. To wrap it up there will be a show performed by the Genkin Philharmonic (photo). Explore the museum or just hang out and watch the performances…
Don’t forget that the Burchfield-Penney Arts Museum has a big upper patio that overlooks Elmwood and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.
The gallery is open until 8:00 p.m. with free admission from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. More on June M&T Second Friday can be found at www.burchfieldpenney.org.
