For anyone looking to chill out to some laid back summer sounds each Friday, The Tee Cup located at The Parkside Lodge is brewing something special. Now that the cafe is open (see post), owner Kat Tyler has taken a look around at her new surroundings and has decided that this is a perfect outdoor space to showcase local bands in a wonderful park setting. It just so happens that on one side of The Lodge is an event space where summer camp is held throughout the course of the summer. In the evening however, the lawn sits empty. Now the area will become a lively scene on Fridays from 5:30pm-8pm, while delicious food will be provided by Wil’s BBQ, The Original Chef and Dave of Shadaje’s.
Ever since Kat opened up The 2nd Cup cafe in Downtown Buffalo, she has been an avid supporter of the live music scene. Now she is bringing that same flavor to Delaware Park, to give people a happy hour alternative while supporting the city’s burgeoning music scene. While live music series may not be new to Delaware Park, this series is completely different (location-wise) – most of the music happenings up ’till now have taken place around Gala Waters and The Albright-Knox.
In order to get to The Tee Cup, located at 84 Parkside, you might consider taking the Metro Rail or arriving by bike. If you do drive, you can park along Ring Road and from there it’s a short walk to The Lodge. Beer and wine will be available – bring a lawn chair or a picnic blanket.
