While many of us are just starting to understand the benefits of the Larkin District as a place to socialize and get cultured, there are others who would like to present the district as a place full of business opportunities. As quickly as buildings are being reclaimed and renovated, innovative and industrious people are finding the refreshing nature of the renaissance to be a good place for business.
On June 26, 2012 from 5:30-9pm, QLS Solutions group is organizing a Buffalo Business Crawl in an attempt to show off a few of the office buildings in the area. I spoke to a friend whose art studio is on the tour (AJ Fries) and he mentioned to me that it was only a matter of time before this event came about – with all of the renewed interest in Larkinville, people want a chance to see what’s ‘behind the curtain’. While it’s great to be able to head to the Larkin Filling Station to grab a meal, there is a whole other side to the district that is full of enterprising companies – companies like Computers For Children, Steamroller – World Class Silkscreen Printing and Drumbeat Networks. There’s nothing like a firsthand tour to get to know the real scene.
Presale tickets are $10 ($15 at the door). The cost of the tour includes complimentary hors d’oeuvres, craft beer & wine tastings, entertainment and prizes. More info on facebook.
Enter at 701 Seneca Street and take the elevators to the 8th floor for registration and reception from 5:30 – 6:00PM. Tours begin at 6:10PM.
