As we all know, Buffalo has some very talented artists. While many of us love to support the local art scene, for some people purchasing art from accomplished artists can be tough financially. Of course it’s always fun to acquire works of art from the up-and-comers, but it’s also important to lay down some serious cash for the more established professionals… when possible.
While spending money on a quality piece enhances one’s art collection, getting a deal on a work of art allows collectors to get better pieces and more of them. That’s why you should think about attending the upcoming A Mid-Summer Night’s Draw. It’s a combination live drawing rally and art auction and it’s being held in one of the premiere venues in town – Asbury Hall at Babeville. There will be 36 artists participating -18 artists per 45-minute drawing session, before the completed works are silent-auctioned. The opening bid for all of the works starts at a very low $38.
The event takes place on July 25, 2012 at 7pm and will feature a wine tasting table, DJ Arson Daily, cash bar and $5 admission. Doors open at 7pm and the live drawing begins at 7:15pm.
