On Saturday, May 5th, 2012, Báles Clothing will feature new apparel lines in Buffalo, NY once again. The spring event is set to introduce fall apparel from t-shirts, sweaters, ponchos, dresses and more. Also featured in The Bloom Show are designers Susan Gathoni Kimani from NYC, along with MarQuita Louise and Nika Reneé who are both from Buffalo.
“Pandamonium is looking to bring an exciting atmosphere of fashion to Babeville, where aspiring artists, business owners, public officials and others can come together and network while checking out some of the latest fashion trends,” Said Steven Bales, founder of Bales Clothing. “This will be an amazing show with a strong presence of creativity. Pandamonium has much to offer the city of Buffalo as it continues to move forward into 2012.
“This is the third time we have used Babeville for our fashion shows. Basically three of five were at Babeville and we always had a better atmosphere, better vibe, better attendance and always over 300 people attend when we host our show in the Downtown Buffalo area. I basically did some research on venues and shopped around for months in 2009 to find out that Babeville was going to become Pandamonium’s “go to” venue!
“We have two designers from Buffalo, NY participating in the event. MarQuita Louise has participated in many local fashion shows in the Western, NY area. She will have an eclectic collection of apparel to hit the runway. Nika Reneé, a student at Buffalo State College will also be showcasing her collection for the second time with Pandamonium and Bales Clothing. Nika is from Niagara Falls and went to Niagara Falls H.S.
“Pandamonium is also featuring Shemika Charles! She lives in Buffalo, NY and is from Trinidad and Tobago. Shemika is a Guinness World Record holder for lowest limbo (female) setting the 8.5 inches mark.”
As for Steven Bales, he was born and raised in the Bronx of New York City, attended Buffalo State College for four years and founded his clothing company in Downtown Buffalo in 2006. The NYC native continues to build his clothing company in Buffalo, NY rather than going to a major city like NYC, LA, Miami or Toronto. He has decided to make a name for himself here and set a core foundation with the growing fashion community. Steven also takes the time to speak to kids in high schools across the city to inspire and uplift their spirits – to follow their dreams.
Local fashion, like any other form of art, is all around us and there are dedicated designers who must be showcased in an environment that is conducive to nurturing. Bales Clothing has been one of the leaders in Buffalo in that regard, and has been helping to provide a stage and spotlight for creatives in the industry.
