Elmwood Avenue is in line for another Louie’s. The owner of 1049 Elmwood Avenue is seeking City approvals for a commercial addition to house Louie’s Texas Red Hots. This Louie’s shouldn’t be confused with Louie’s Original Footlong Hot Dogs located at 470 Elmwood. Louie’s Texas Red Hots currently has five WNY locations including two city locations on Bailey Avenue and Delaware Avenue.
The 2,232 sq.ft. two-family Elmwood residence is owned Lori Labonte and is located on the east side of the street south of Bird Avenue. A 755 sq.ft. addition designed by Dean Sutton Architects would house a prep area and counter plus customer seating and a bathroom. An outdoor patio is also planned. The Buffalo Planning Board tabled the patio request at its March 27th meeting.
Louie’s Texas Red Hots was founded by Louie Galanes in 1967 at Bailey and Delevan avenues. Locations are open 24-hours and serve breakfast, soups and salads, sandwiches, and of course hot dogs.
