Back in 2010 I wrote a story on the great potential of Trinity Place, which runs west of Elmwood on the south edge of Allentown. I compared its potential to that of Buffalo’s Little Summer Street on the West Side off Richmond, which is at the heart of a neighborhood resurgence in that part of the city. I followed up that story with a story focused on the wedding cake-like house pictured here.
Back then the house was painted a uniform battleship grey. Even with the lackluster color pallet this wonderful little house shined through as something special and worthy of attention. Today it has a creative and very colorful new paint jobs which demands that you take note of this little architectural wonder. The colors may not be historically accurate but I think they are quite appropriate for this little cupcake of a house. We have also been informed that the paint job is nowhere near being completed (we’ll follow up when it’s all done). This street has a great future in front of it (more posts to come). When eyeing the wood garage, it is interesting to note that the handy work was performed by our friends at the ReUse Action wood shop and Rusted Grain (see more info).
As for Trinity Place, I would suggest that you buy in now before it is too late.
I would love to know more about this place. Does anyone know more about the history of this unusual little structure?
