Echo Art Fair Reports Results from the Submission Process

The submission period for the juried portion of echo Art Fair, which will take place July 7-8 at the Larkin Center of Commerce, closed at Midnight last Friday.
The fair organizers (more info) were thrilled with the response to the call for submissions, and ran some numbers – resulting in the following findings:
– Artist and gallery applications were up 60% from 2011; galleries represented 24% of all applicants (up from 15% in 2011).
– echo Art Fair received first-time submissions from artists and galleries in Toronto, Cleveland, New York City, Brooklyn, and across New York State (Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, and points in between). There were also new entrants from Austin, TX and Portland, OR.
– Western New York artists and galleries, both new and returning, represented 72% of the applicants.
– Much to the organizers’ joy, 50% of applicants applied within the last 12 hours of the submission process!
Artists and galleries who are accepted by the jury into echo will be notified by mail on or before April 30, 2012.
A reminder to all artists interested in the site-specific call for submission–the deadline for that portion of the fair is April 2, 2012. Details can be found on our website:
The fair organizers would like to thank all the artists and galleries who submitted to echo Art Fair 2012. All interested parties can keep abreast of echo Art Fair’s updates via its website or its Facebook page.
