2nd Annual Birdhouses for the Clubhouse

Get ready to tweet. I mean the original tweet, not the social media tweet. On Friday, April 27, 2012 from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Gilda’s Club will be hosting an event that is twofold. First and foremost it is designed to raise money for men, women, children and teens touched by cancer. It is also an event that capitalizes on the creativity of nature enthusiasts. After all, who doesn’t love a beautiful birdhouse?
We’ve all see the birdhouses that you can buy at the store, but history has shown that birdhouses can be as imaginative and beautiful as the birds themselves. Not just that… Buffalo has become fairly well known as a city that attracts all sorts of birds, and bird watching is a thriving pastime at places like Forest Lawn and Times Beach. Amazing migratory birds call Buffalo home at various times of the year, while many bird varieties can be found in the dormant months. It’s up to us to create as many safe habitats as possible in order to help local bird populations thrive. Here’s what you can expect from the 2nd Annual Birdhouses for the Clubhouse affair:
-Buy or bid on handmade and/or handcrafted birdhouses suitable for indoor and/or outdoor display
-Learn about birding and the environment from the experts
-Purchase one-of-a-kind items from vendors who are donating a portion of their proceeds to Gilda’s Club
-Buy raffle tickets for a chance to win beautiful baskets of goodies
-Place orders for geraniums for spring planting
-Enjoy delicious refreshments
