“Beautiful Music is a Beautiful Space” is the theme for the second season of concerts being held at Blessed Trinity.
Blessed Trinity, if you have never visited before, is one of those hidden gems of Buffalo. It was constructed between 1923 and 1928 in the Lombard Romanesque style. It is truly an exquisite building and one of the few examples of this type of architecture found outside of Europe.
It was built and still stands as a reflection of the values and spirit of the people of Buffalo in its prime. Beauty is not something that should be out of sight but celebrated and experienced as a part of one life. But alas, this article is not about architecture (more on that later).
The 2011-2012 Concert Season kicked off with the Buffalo Brass Choir on December 11th. The Brass choir is founded and directed by Blessed Trinity’s music director (and awesome organist), Nick DelBello. The Buffalo Brass Choir brings together some of the finest brass players in the region. It was a fantastic show for those who attended.
There are still four more shows coming up and all of them are free and open to the public. However if you are able to do so, donations are welcome. All proceeds from the concert series will go towards the restoration of the church’s organ. While still impressive and functional at 84 years old the organ could use some significant care. So if you are interested in an evening of architectural, musical, or maybe even spiritual delight, consider stopping by for one the remaining concerts!
