Clutter III: Buffalo Indie Do-It-Yourself Market

It was back in October when Vanessa Ron first introduced Clutter, the do-it-yourself market, to shoppers in Allentown. Since that time, the spirit of Clutter has grown, and Vanessa is now preparing for her third event, in which local artists-artisans-thrifters-etc. will set up shop for a day in order to showcase their arts, crafts, wares and finds in a fresh flea market style setting (see background). It was with the advent of that Vanessa knew she could pull of a brick and mortar version of the online site, if only for a day. If there was enough interest in the first Clutter event, the plan was to host another… and another.
One thing that many Buffalonians still yearn for is a legit urban flea market, similar to the Chelsea Market in NYC. The opportunity exists here to do something similar – to start off in a grassroots manner, and to grow the show. So far the retailers have found success in the market movement, and at the same time the shoppers have come away with plenty of finds that keep them coming back for more.
Visit Clutter: III Buffalo Indie DIY Market on Saturday, February 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Sugar City.  You’ll find hand-picked items including silk-screen prints, couture clothing, vintage housewares and collectables, hand dyed and knitted outerwear and accessories.  Plus vegan treats!
