If you happened to miss the recent Pandamonium fashion show presented by the Bales Clothing that took place at the Museum of Science, then you’re still in luck because the local designer fashion movement is growing, and more people are starting to pay attention. The show featured five emerging fashion designers; Monique Edwards from Toronto, Tammy Cummings and Kimone Young from New York City and Bales Clothing spring and summer 2012 collection. Over 40 different outfits were featured that night, all ranging from swimsuits to urban wear and evening wear.
It was more than just a fashion show to the team members of Bales Clothing. Raffle tickets were sold in order to raise money for Western NY’s Toy Drive and for Mercy Ministries, an organization that has provided hope and healing to generations of desperate young women who are seeking freedom from life-controlling issues.
Two of the shows main attractions were the monumental enormous dinosaurs that stood at the center of the whole performance. Terre King, Western NY’s own movie producer, director and actor hosted the two hour-long show with on-air personality, singer and songwriter Aalia Rasool, lady K. from WBLK. Over 200 of Pandamonium’s biggest supporters attended the fashion show along with family and friends, and not one empty seat was found among the crowd.
Bales Clothing is most grateful for the success of their team and the seven local sponsors who supported them, Terrence McGee, GiGi’s Restaurant, Dan Schmidt Agency, Chopafellaz Barbershop, AJ Jamaica Kitchen, Demone Smith and Excuria hair salon and spa.
The Pandamonium fashion show will once again showcase the amazing talent of several upcoming fashion designers, on April 20, 2012 at Asbury Hall. With the success of the last show exceeding the expectation of everyone, the event stands as a reminder of the success and talent that Western NY has to offer. It also shows the tremendous interest in the community for these types of homegrown initiatives.
