buffaBLOG Holiday Party

This Friday why not celebrate the holidays with our friends at buffaBLOG, the online Indie magazine dedicated to the local music scene. ‘Tis the season to support our musicians, and there’s no place like Nietzsche’s during the month of December. From Mac McGuire at buffaBLOG:
“We have selected 5 of our favorite locals artists for entertainment.  DJ Mario Bee of the Queen City Cartel, who specializes in bass music, will act as our house DJ, spinning records up front between sets in addition to prior and post party.  As for the bands on the main(back) stage, Wooden Waves will begin the night with their hyper electro rock ala Dan Deacon and Yo La Tengo.  Bryan Johnson & Family, who sound like Rivers Coumo of Weezer fronting a rockabilly/surf pop band, follow.  Next up, the WAKOS, whose acoustic based, three part harmony songs are accompanied by electronic elements.  Closing the evening will be Harvestsum Records heavy weights Roger Bryan & the Orphans, whose hard rockin Americana recalls The Replacements, Uncle Tupelo, Wilco, and Ryan Adams.  All acts will be playing at least one holiday tune, both covers and originals. It’s our pleasure to put on this party to act as a showcase for Buffalo’s great local music scene.  We have met and made many friends over the last year and a half of the blog’s existence and what better way to get them all together over the holidays than this party.  We hope and expect this to be the first of many buffaBLOG Holiday Parties.”
