By Bernice Radle:
Are you interested in lowering your small business utility bills, adding comfort to your operations and investing in your community? Right now there is a program provided to you by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for a $1,500 energy study on your small business. The study will give your business a report that will outline all of the improvements that make financial sense to you.
If you are not looking to conduct energy improvements to your business now, it is still very important to take advantage of the study while you can. The money doesn’t last forever and getting this study done is a real deal. You are not obligated to do the work either but it can be a real tool to have down the road for future investment and it doesn’t even matter if you are a renter or owner, both can take advantage!
If you are wondering how you can take advantage of this energy study, there is a workshop on December 6th from 9 – 10am, provided to you by the Buffalo State Small Business Development Center. The workshop is free and requires registering before the event. Please call 878-4030 to register. If you cannot make this but are still interested, call anyway to schedule another date.
*This hands-on workshop will be held in a computer lab on the Buff State campus on Tuesday, December 6th in Butler Library, Room 316 from 9am to 10am. Small businesses and not-for-profits can also obtain generous financial incentives to implement the recommended energy-efficiency measures. The study is available whether the business owns or leases its facility and is free if its average electric demand is less than 100 kW. All that is required for the workshop is the annual energy consumption and cost of the facility’s gas and electric utilities. Space is limited. To register, call the Small Business Development Center at 716-878-4030. Free parking will be provided.
